As we had mentioned in our earlier story, the Renault Fluence facelift is just around the corner and we spotted one of the facelift versions in a stockyard. The Renault Fluence facelift will get a new front grille, with a larger Renault diamond logo on it. The front bumper has also been redesigned as it gets LED above the fog lamps. The headlamps have been tweaked a bit too.
The Fluence gets new alloy wheels and a black colour rocker, instead of the regular body colour that was seen on the previous vehicle. The Renault Fluence will be available with the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine that will churn about 110bhp of power and will come mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The second engine will be the 2.0-litre petrol with an CVT box. We can expect the 2.0-litre to be replaced with a 1.6-litre petrol or have that as the third engine with manual transmission, to get another introduction model, for those looking at buying a petrol manual. The interiors of the Renault Fluence will also receive a minor tweak, and it will retain Renault’s smart entry card. It will get a new touchscreen infotainment system, electronic parking brake and a re-done leather upholstery.
The Fluence is a D segment sedan and it competes with the Toyota Corolla Altis, Skoda Laura, Volkswagen Jetta and the Hyundai Elantra. The new Corolla will be out in 2014, while the new Skoda Octavia (which will replace the Laura) will be launched during this Diwali. Hence, we can expect Renault to upgrade the Fluence sometime around Diwali.
