Renault has finally put a date on the launch of Lodgy MPV. The automaker will launch the vehicle on 9th April in a glam event at Kamal Mahal, ITC Maurya Sheraton, New Delhi. Booking for this Renault’s first MPV is recently started with customers paying an upfront payment of Rs 50,000. With Lodgy MPV, Renault is looking to tap the sales of segment leader Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Honda Mobilio and will compete with the likes of Chevrolet Enjoy and Nissan Evalia as well.
In terms of exterior design and styling, Renault Lodgy looks different from its siblings. The front gets large swept back headlights, twin slatted chrome grille with Renault badge fitting in the middle. The side profile is plain and simple and features 15-inch alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin, the Lodgy MPV gets two tone dashboard along with similar styling cues from Duster AWD which include the speedo console, the steering wheel, the Medianav system, aircon control and vents. The spacious cabin offers decent space for 7 to and 8 people depending upon the seating arrangement.
With a wheelbase of 2810 mm - more than the Toyota Innova’s 2750 mm, Ertiga’s 2740 mm and Mobilio’s 2652 mm - Lodgy will be the most spacious 7 seater MPV in the country.
Powering the Lodgy is company’s tried and tested 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine which is tuned to deliver output in two states, 110 PS and 85 PS which we have also seen in Duster. The 110 PS model as the name suggests gives an output of 110 PS @ 4000 rpm with 245 Nm of peak torque and is mated to 6-speed manual gearbox.
