This Wednesday was of historical importance for the city of Hyderabad and Rolls-Royce. The British luxury marquee Rolls-Royce has made a return to Hyderabad after a huge gap to mark a new beginning in the city. A new dealership was launched in Hyderabad yesterday to showcase the Rolls-Royce models exclusively. This is the third dealership in the country after New Delhi and Mumbai. Rolls Royce presence in the historical city of Hyderabad is not new. The great Nizams are believed to maintain a fleet of Rolls-Royce cars back then.

Especially, the seventh ruler of the Nizam dynasty is said to have owned around fifty Rolls-Royce cars which were maintained out of passion. Moreover, the last ruler of the Hyderabad was a proud owner of the Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost model, which he had maintained with great fervour and used selectively for ceremonial purposes. To mark the importance of the event, after almost a century later, Rolls-Royce has introduced the sixth version of the Rolls-Royce Ghost model, the Extended Wheel base version in Hyderabad for Rs 3.05 crores. The Extended wheelbase version is basically 170 mm longer than the previous version.

The engine under the hood of the super luxury car is the same 6.6 L engine to produce the majestic 563 Bhp peak power and 780 Nm of peak torque. The car zooms at a great speed and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 5 seconds. Rolls-Royce made a re-entry in India in 2005 through its German parent BMW after its stint in the country years back. After changing many hands, Rolls-Royce finally came into the acquisition of BMW in 1999.
