Rolls Royce to mend ‘Ghost’ saloon in India too

Following the recent fire accidents involving the luxury car, Rolls-Royce Ghost, the renowned car manufacturer has announced to recall the Ghost model from the car markets including India. Rolls Royce Ghost model was reported to torch into flames recently due to some sort of faulty engineering leading to short circuit. It is reported that the overheated water pump has induced the fire in the luxury car. This technical imperfection was found especially in the models manufactured within the time frame of one year from September 2009 -2010.

The recall information has been relayed by Regional director of Rolls-Royce Motors Ltd, Paul Harris at New Delhi, where he stated that the Rolls-Royce Ghost models will be phased out from India, without confirming the exact numbers involved. He affirmed that they are in the process of communicating with the Rolls-Royce Ghost owners in the country to inform them of the recent mishaps. However, 589 units of the famous car have been recalled in the US market to avoid further fire-catching incidents.

On a positive note, Harris had informed that India is among the ten markets, where they intend to see a steep growth curve in the near future, carving its way aggressively into the top 5 spots. The very instance of launching the Rolls Royce Ghost extended wheelbase version is to drive home the point. The new Rolls Royce Ghost version comes with an enhanced wheelbase of 170 mm to offer ample legroom and overall cabin space to maximize the comfort of the onboard passengers. The Rolls Royce Ghost extended wheel base version sports the same 6.6 L V 12 engine with the majestic power and torque output of 563 Bhp and 780 Nm in just 1,500 rpm. The luxury car is capable to accelerate from 0-100 km in just 5 seconds.
