Rolls-Royce Motor Cars recently launched its super luxury car Rolls-Royce Ghost in India and 25 bookings have been made so far. But the car company wants it to be double, i.e. 50, in next five years. In order to make this possible, the auto firm is about to start keen marketing initiatives which include networking dinners and super class special sporting events. Not surprisingly, Rolls-Royce has no plans to expand their dealer network.
Regional director for Asia-Pacific at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Colin Kelly, said that at this point of time there is no need to expand the dealer network. The existing team at Delhi and Mumbai are enough to handle everything in India. The most advanced and super luxurious car, Ghost, is priced at Rs 2.5 crore in India. Whereas, Rolls-Royce's other car, Rolls-Royce Phantom, has a price tag of over Rs 3.7 crore. The price tag of Phantom is higher than Rolls-Royce Ghost on account of added cost of personalization for every customer. In 2008-09, the company had sold only 15 cars but hopes to sell more in the next year. The next year sales target of the company is 75 units (50-60 units of Ghost and rest Phantoms) of car.
