Scorpio And XUV700 Make Up Two-thirds Of Mahindra’s Pending Orders

The Scorpio N and Classic account for well over 1 lakh orders
While sharing its FY23 results, Mahindra revealed the total pending orders for its models, including some specific details for each moniker. The carmaker has a total of 2.92 lakh open bookings, including pending orders for the XUV300, XUV400, Thar, Scorpio Classic, Scorpio N, XUV700, Bolero, and Bolero Neo. Here are the detailed figures as announced:

The Scorpio brand with its two iterations – the Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic – has the highest number of pending bookings, close to 1.2 lakh units. On average, it records close to 14,000 bookings a month. While the Thar enjoys a similar monthly interest from buyers, it’s the XUV700 which is Mahindra’s second most popular product here in terms of pending orders, with around 8,000 bookings per month.
The Thar has the next longest list of pending orders, a tally influenced by the high demand for its rear-wheel drive diesel variants.

The rear-wheel drive variants of the Thar still command a waiting period of close to a year in certain cities. As for the Scorpio N, it also observes an average waiting period of over six months across the country.
Meanwhile, Mahindra’s backlog for the Bolero is less than its average monthly bookings. It continues to be one of best-selling monikers for the Indian SUV specialist and it does include the demand for the more practical Bolero Neo.
