It was recently witnessed that there was a massive boost up of about 22% in the export of small car despite of the weak market situation in Euro Zone. Amusingly, the improved focus on non-European market for the Indian small cars is also assisting the export growth to a large extend. On the other hand, the domestic small cars sales, which comprise of mini, compact and micro segment apparently declined by 6% at the 703802 units during the time frame of April to September 2011. However, the exports of the small cars saw about 22% of growth, which comes to 241,848 units in place of 197,761 units in the year of 2010.

The second position was grabbed by Maruti India. In spite of the labour unrest at the Manesar Plant of Maruti Suzuki India, Maruti managed to be positioned at the 2nd place in the export of small cars across the world. As per the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association, the car registration went down by 1.1% to 10,121,423 units in the European market during the time period of January to September 2011.
