Audi showcased the next generation TT at the Geneva Motor Show a few months ago; the car is reportedly launching later this year. The Indian launch is expected soon after the global debut, however, the sports car has been spotted testing in Mumbai. Apart from the coupe, 2015 TT soft top roadster test mule graces the world for the first time, under test in Germany. The drop dead is similar to coupe but expect few elusive changes.
Audi India offers only the coupe version of the ongoing TT, the company is bringing the A3 cabriolet which increases the possibilities of a TT soft top! Not to mention, 2015 TT is not new to world, company showcased the car entirely at Geneva. Over the years, TT has evolved manifoldly since its inception in 1998, the 2015 iteration turned sharper and aggressive.
The headlights in the new TT are sleeker and equipped with LED lighting system along with LED day time running lights. The vehicle sports large chrome slated hexagonal grille, typical of Audis. While the front features radial changes, the rear profile is a similar TT territory, with all the curviness!
Interiors are getting major overhaul in 2015 TT, interior provides a glimpse of future Audi layouts, similar to the one in the upcoming A3 sedan. The 2015 TT's dash offers simple and elegant design, less claustrophobic compared to the current one.
The highlight of the interiors is a 12.3 inch fully digital instrumentation cluster, powered by Audi's GPU partner Nvidia – pumping up the graphics is a Nvidia Tegra 30 GPU (Graphic Processor Unit). The instrumentation cluster also possess built-in navigation.
Mechanically, the 2015 TT is powered by a 4 cylinder 2.0 liter turbocharged TFSI petrol engine, present in two states of tune. The normal TT will produce 227bhp and a peak torque of 370Nm, while the hotter TTS variant belts out 306bhp and 380Nm of maximum torque.
Globally, Audi will also offer TT with a 2.0 liter TDI turbo diesel rated at 181bhp while torque stats at 380Nm. However, Audi India does not offer TT with a diesel heat currently in India, so the possibility of a diesel 2015 TT is minuscule. While the optional Quattro AWD set is mated to either a 6 speed manual or a six-speed S tronic AT.
