Ssangyong, the korean subsidiary of Mahindra and Mahindra has officially teased a 7-seater version of its upcoming Tivoli compact SUV. The concept has been designed for the 2016 Geneva Auto Expo showcase. The SUV concept, which dons the moniker ‘ Ssangyong Tivoli XLV’ was previewed about a year ago as a concept model and that showcase took place at Geneva, as well. The upcoming concept has been teased via an exterior sketch, that details the overall aesthetics of the SUV.
Speaking of the aesthetics, the front facade of the XLV is quite reminiscent of the standard Tivoli, which is expected to make its Indian debut sometime later this year. As one takes a closer look at the car, it becomes evident that the concept is substantially larger than its compact SUV iteration. XLV has been extended by 235 mm over the standard Tivoli platform and now accommodates 7 occupants, while the wheelbase remains unaltered. This means that even though XLV is a 7-seater and features a boot capacity of 720 liters as compared to 423 liters of standard Tivoli, XLV will feature the same turning radius as the standard compact SUV.
Under the hood, XLV will be powered by the same 1.6-liter - e-XGi160 petrol and e-XDi160 diesel engine option, which one finds powering the standard Tivoli. The petrol powerplant offers a power output of 128PS, whereas the diesel mill produces 115PS, which will help it take on its arch rival in the market, the Hyundai Creta.
