Except for the Jimny, the remaining three SUVs saw sales numbers cross the 10,000-unit mark
Although Maruti Suzuki was late to the SUV party, it has more than made up for lost ground by becoming the number one SUV manufacturer (by sales) in recent months. Its current lineup (both Arena and Nexa included) has four SUVs, including the 5-door Maruti Jimny and Maruti Baleno-based Fronx crossover SUV. Here’s a look at how each SUV performed in September 2023:

The Maruti Grand Vitara was the second-most popular SUV from the carmaker, with total sales of almost 11,800 units. While it saw a huge increase in YoY sales, the compact SUV’s MoM number dipped by about a 100 units.

The Maruti Jimny, with slightly over 2,600 units sold, became the carmaker’s least-picked SUV in September, failing to even cross its August 2023 sales figure.
Overall, the carmaker witnessed total SUV sales of nearly 41,000 units in September, which was more than double that of the same period last year, as it only had two SUVs back then.
