Suzuki Alto tops NRMA costs survey
Suzuki Alto, also known as Maruti A Star in India, bagged the top slot in the NRMA Motoring and servicing survey of being the least expensive car to own and operate in Australia. Beating over 600 cars surveyed, with the Alto GL having a weekly outlay of only $88.82, it was almost 10 dollars clear of its nearest rival.
At its current drive away price of $12.490, fantastic fuel efficiency of just 4.8 litres per 100 km and very low servicing costs, the survey confirms that Alto is the best value cars in the market.
Also standing out in the survey was the Suzuki Jimny, which also took out the top honors in the compact SUV segment, with an average cost of $127.40, a week to run (comparable to the state average of $183 p/week) making it the most affordable 4*4 in the country. The NRMA survey in Australia's most authoritative, comparing the 600 cars on the key cost factors.
