Suzuki WagonR unveiled in Indonesia

Suzuki Motor Corporation, the Japanese automaker has unveiled the WagonR hatchback at the ongoing Indonesia International Motor Show. The company has also started the production of the 1000cc WagonR (aka KARIUM WAGON R in Indonesia) from September 2013.

The KARIUM WAGON R is a 1000cc passenger car with five seats that suit the Indonesian government's Low Cost Green Car policy. Its production has started this month only at the Tambun Plant of SIM for sales in the Indonesian domestic market. The WagonR hatch is powered by a 1-litre K Series petrol engine that develops 68PS peak power and 90Nm of top torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The vehicle has a fuel tank capacity of 35 litres and 900kg of kerb weight.

Suzuki WagonR also comes with adequate security features like engine immobilizer is a management system in the EU (Electronic Control Unit) that can recognize the signals sent from the key, keyless entry and others. While comparing it to the Indian model, the vehicle doesn't support adjustable headrests for front seat, however the other features, looks and specifications of the two cars are similar.
