Tata Indica test mule caught on lenses
Tata Indica test mule was recently caught around the Tata Motors factory in Pimpri. The facelift Indica hatchback from the stable of Tata is going to come with brand new headlamps and grille that comes from sedan Indigo eCS. Tata Indica facelift will also come with an all new front bumper. Apparently, Tata Indica received a makeover just a year ago, which was in the form of eV2 variant. The market was abuzz with news that why Tata Motors is not coming up with any new vehicles, when its arch rivals are flooring the Indian car market with their latest products and getting far ahead in the race. The last product that was introduced from the stables of Tata was Tata Aria which is a good two years old now. The answer of that question is Tata Motors focus right now is to improve its existing portfolio.

Apart from the makeover, new Tata Indica was spotted with 90's badging on the flank and the rear of the car, underhandedly saying that the new Indica might be diesel powered. Ealier, 1.3L Quadrajet diesel engine powered Tata Manza and 1.4L Safire petrol engine had got the 90's badging, which denotes the horsepower these engines produce. But Indica receiving the same badging, is a bit offhand as the test mule variant looks more like a low cost model with non body colored door handles and wing mirrors. One cannot commit over the engine configuration of the new Indica and whether the car will be available with a VGT 1.3L multijet diesel engine like seen under the hood of Manza and Vista which hold a 75 Bhp FGT variant of this engine. What's clear in the whole situation is that Indica's chasis is competent enough to handle such power as a sports version of Indica has already been developed.
