Geneva Motor show 2011 saw Tata Motor's concept car, the Pixel which had collected a lot of appreciation, and being one of the most cheapest cars in the world, it became instantly popular. Then came the extended version, the Megapixel, which was showcased by Ratan Tata and his successor, Cyrus Mistry at the Geneva Motor Show 2012.
And now at the ongoing Goodwood festival of speed, it has made its debut in the UK. Both the Pixel and Megapixel are especially built for the European markets. Prakash Telang, MD, Tata Motors, said that the all new Megapixel is the outcome of the work done progressively on the Pixel. He further cleared that Europe will get the all new Pixel not the Nano.
The Megapixel is powered by four electric motors, attached to all four wheels individually. The range extended electric vehicle (REEV) has got a combination of a lithium-ion phosphate battery and a petrol-engine generator to recharge it when required. The company claims, the Tata Megapixel to drive up to 900 km once the tank is full, which means an unbelievable mileage of 100kmpl.
Designed especially for the city riding, the Megapixel is capable of occupying four adults and impresses with its global design that makes it feasible for any of the metropolitan cities across the world. The Tata Megapixel is expected to launch in the European market by the next year. Keep visiting for more updates on the same.
Cheers!
