Tata Motors and JLR R&D to jointly develop products

Mike Wright, the executive director of Jaguar Land Rover is said to have mentioned during an industry event organized by the SIAM that they intend to form a collaboration between the JLR and Tata Motor's domestic R&D centers and the U.K ones to develop new products that are to be launched in India or overseas. He also added that JLR has great interest in penetrating into the Indian and the Chinese market and the company is quite focused to develop products. As for partially moving the assembly units to India, Wright commented that any additional facility will only add to the existing manufacturing facility in UK.
 
Tata Motors recently launched the Tata Indigo e-CS VX variant with an excellent mileage of 25 kmpl. The Tata Indigo e-CS VX is launched at a price of Rs 4,97,727(ex showroom price) as a diesel variant. Apart from that, Tata Motors is currently engaged with the upcoming launch of their SUV Tata Safari Merlin slated towards the end of this year. Borrowing the same looks as that of Tata Safari, the new SUV Merlin is likely to target the Toyota Fortuner. Also, Tata Motors has the launch of refreshed version of the Tata Manza sedan slated in near future. The new version of Tata Manza will be shorter version of the outgoing sedan by 4000 mm to make it a small sedan car. The Tata Manza CS is likely to be Rs 40,000 lesser than the current Tata Manza sedan price.
