Tata Motors January sales at 75,423 nos.

Tata Motors  has kick started the year with the total sales of 75,423 in January 2011. The sales number include the export of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles. The company sold 65,478 vehicals in the same time period last year, leading to 15 % growth against the last year's sales.

Company's domestic sale has also increased by 13% this year. Last year 62,202 vehicles were sold however the number has increased to 70,475 in January 2011.

There is a growth of 29% in the accrued sales (including exports ) of the company compared to the last year's sales. There is a jump in the sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market. In January 2011, 40,263 commercial vehicles were sold , however last year 35,957 cars were sold in the same time period. So there is a growth of 12% in the commercial vehicle segment. Cumulative LCV sales and M&HCV sales stood at 204,741 and 151,158 respectively, leading to a growth of 17% in LCV sales and 29 % growth in M&HCV sales. Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 355,899 nos., a growth of 22% over last year.

In comparison to the last year's sales in the passenger vehicles in the domestic market there is an increase of 14% this year. The total sale and distribution of the passenger vehicles business this year is 32,386 units compared to 28,460 units in 2010.

Sales of the Tata Nano have gone up by 68% this year. A total of 6,703 units of Tata Nano have been sold in the month of january so far. On the contrary there is a dip by 8% in the sales of Tata Indica as compared to January last year. However there has been an increase of 17% in the sales of Tata Indigo over January last year. The Sumo/Safari/ Aria/ Venture range accounted for sales of 4,462 nos., higher by 26% over January last year.

Jaguar Land Rover sales continued their upward trend.

Cumulative sales and distribution offtake of passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal were 256,749 nos. (238,909 Tata + 17,840 Fiat), against 200,464 nos. Cumulative sales of Tata passenger vehicles were 238,909 nos., a 33% increase compared to 180,184 nos., in January last year. Cumulative sales of the Nano were 53,463 nos., a 148% increase compared to 21,535 nos., in January last year. Cumulative sales of the Indica range were 80,864 nos., lower by 11%. Cumulative sales of the Indigo family were 71,762 nos., higher by 72%. Cumulative sales of the Sumo/Safari/ Aria range are 32,820 nos., higher by 28%.

Company's sales from exports in this calendar year has already gone up by 51% in comparison to January last year. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal at 47,608 units are higher by 78% over 26,800 units in the same period last year.
