Tata Motors the Indian car manufacturer and a well established name in the market has price winning products in almost all the segments in the Indian auto market starting from the smallest and cheapest Tata Nano to the first crossover Tata Aria. Thanks to Tata Nano, the company has been able to put itself on the international map and has gained popularity with its international ventures such as the takeover of British Luxury bran, Jaguar Land Rover.

Tata Motors purchased JLR in 2008, which was a debt ridden company because of recession. After Tata Motors took over JLR, the brand not only recovered its financial losses but also started running in profits. JLR, is planning to earn profits this year and targets to sell 200,00 or more cars which will fetch the luxury brand 9.7 billion pounds which was only 6.7 billions pounds in 2009. If speculations are to be believed then Indian car maker Tata Motors' owned Jaguar Land Rover is planning to start a new manufacturing facility in China. The company has extensive plans to expand the luxury brand JLR and for that, Tata Motors are planning to set up a production facility in China.

As the reports, the new unit will be affixed with the capacity of producing 50,000 cars in one year. As per company's estimation a staff of 5,000 will be required for this massive production.

As per Ralf Speth, JLR Cheif Executive, the luxury car markers can begin production if a joint venture works out with the Chinese Industrial groups.

If the tabloids are to be believed, the venture is an initiative by the UK Prime Minister, Davis Cameron, as it would create as many as 5,000 job opportunities in China. As per sources, JLR is also negotiating with other state controlled large vehicle producers and China will have a much better approach in international market. Tata Motors JLR has also roped Stefen Berger, who is an expert in the join ventures in China.

Apart from taking over the luxurious brand JLR, in 2004, Tata Motors the wonder company took over Daewoo a truck manufacturing unit which is now well known in South Korea as Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle.

Tata Motors in 2005, acquired 21 per cent in Argonese Hispano Carrocera and gave the right to control of the company affairs. In 2007, Tata Motors has a joint venture with Marcopolo from Brazil and launched low floor buses in India.

In 2010, the Indian marvel car company took over Trilix, an Italian based engineering and design company by acquiring 80 per cent stake by paying € 1.85 million. The company wishes to expand in the design and styling capacity to raise it to international standards.
