India's leading passenger vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors has decided to cut down prices of its products. The news came after the government announced the cut in excise duty by 2%. Ashok Leyland and Apollo Tyres will also cut down the prices of their products by 2% to pass down the benefit to its customers.

According to a statement given by Ashok Leyland Managing Director R Seshasayee to a media group the company will pass on this benefit to its customers as the new rates will be applied.

At the other hand  Tata Motors is now in the final stage of its most ambitious  project Tata Nano. The Nano will be launched in April and by this price cut products of Tata Motors become cheaper by 2%.
