Now, it is being speculated that the Tata’s 3-door SUV model will not enter the Indian market and the company will launch only the back-seat friendly 5-door version due to heavy custom duty. Further, Range Rover Evoque is said to compete with other major players in the segment like LC Prado, BMW X5, Audi Q7 and Mercedes Benz ML-Class if launched in completely build units (CBU) form.
It is worth mentioning that Tata recently inaugurated new assembly in Pune and If Tata Motors is looking for releasing the SUV in India, assembling it in India will deliver better response. However, using the completely knocked down units will let Range Rover Evoque enter in a segment lower and with direct competition with Audi Q5.
