The top-spec XZ+ Lux variant of the Tata Nexon EV Max has been updated with the new and bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen system. Tata’s new infotainment unit was first offered on the Dark Edition of its electric subcompact SUV offering and is now passed on to the regular model. The updated variant commands Rs 30,000 over the previous version:

The new infotainment system by Harman boasts an HD display, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Tata claims the audio and bass performance has been improved for a more engaging experience but it still comes with the same 8 speakers. The system also supports voice assist in six languages (English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi) with over 180 commands.

Other features on board the Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux variant include leatherette seats, an electric sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charger, ESP, traction control, electronic parking brake, hill start/descent control, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Tata offers a 40.5kWh battery pack with the Nexon EV Max, which claims up to 453 kilometers of range. Its electric motor is rated at 143PS and 250Nm. It can be charged from zero to 80 per cent in 56 minutes with a 50kW DC fast charger. The SUV gets the choice of a 3.3kW or a 7.2kW AC charger, which juice up the Max in 15 hours and 6.5 hours, respectively.

The Nexon EV Max is priced from Rs 16.49 lakh to Rs 19.54 lakh. Its Prime version retails from Rs 14.49 lakh to Rs 17.19 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom) but gets a smaller battery pack with a range of up to 312 kilometres. The electric SUV rivals the Mahindra XUV400, which claims a similar range and at a similar price.
