After being revealed in its entirety recently, the Tata Nexon facelift is now available for pre-orders ahead of its launch on September 14. The carmaker is taking bookings both online and at its pan-India dealer network. The updated SUV will be sold in four broad trims: Smart, Pure, Creative and Fearless. Tata will also be revealing the prices of the facelifted Nexon EV on the same day. Here’s a brief recap of what all is known about the new Nexon so far:

    Sure To Turn Heads

    2023 Tata Nexon

Changes to the Nexon are majorly populated at its front and rear ends which include a newer and sleeker grille, vertically stacked LED projector headlights with revised LED DRLs and redone bumpers. Tata has given it connected and dapper LED taillights and a restructured tailgate which round up the changes at the back.

Recently released teasers of the new Nexon EV (or the Nexon.ev as it will be called), show it to get similar design changes as the new standard Nexon. Its big design change, however, is the elongated LED DRL spanning the width of the front fascia.

    A More Premium Cabin Experience

The new Nexon gets a redesigned dashboard and a new 2-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel like on the Curvv, featuring an illuminated Tata logo. It also has revised upholstery which flaunts a different colour scheme depending on the variant and paint option chosen. Tata has also made use of a touch-based panel for the Nexon facelift’s climate controls which also has a backlit setup.

    No Dearth Of Features

With the midlife refresh, the Nexon’s safety and features list has only grown longer thanks to the inclusion of dual 10.25-inch displays (one for instrumentation and the other for infotainment), a 360-degree camera, six airbags (as standard), and front parking sensors. We have covered all the new features on board the Nexon while also detailing its variant-wise equipment list.

    Spoilt For Choice

Even though the variant lineup has been simplified compared to the outgoing model, Tata has chosen to continue offering a range of engine-gearbox combinations for buyers to pick their most preferred one. These are as follows:

    Specification

    1.2-litre Turbo-petrol

    1.5-litre Diesel

    Power

    120PS

    115PS

    Torque

    170Nm

    260Nm

    Transmission

    5-speed MT, 6-speed MT, 6-speed AMT, 7-speed DCT

    6-speed MT, 6-speed AMT

The Nexon still has three drive modes (Eco, City and Sports), but now also comes with paddle shifters for both AMT and dual-clutch automatic transmission options. On the other hand, the Nexon EV facelift’s powertrain is unlikely to be tinkered with.

    Expected Price And Competition

    2023 Tata Nexon rear

We believe Tata could price the Nexon facelift from a little over Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. The SUV will continue to be at loggerheads with the likes of the Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, and even the Maruti Fronx crossover.
