Tata Motors is rolling high with the Zest, as the compact sedan is attracting six months of waiting period. After couple of hard years in the country, the company is focusing on a brighter future and their efforts with the Zest seems to be fruitful. Mayank Pareek, President passenger division Tata Motors said that he is disappointed over the rising waiting period and said that company is trying to chop the elevated waiting period of the car.
"We should supply to the customer just when he wants. Efforts are on to ramp up production as we also speak to vendors to up the supplies where there is a shortage," he commented. "We should have managed the supplies better," seem like they underestimated the customer demands for the feature loaded Tata Zest!
Being the only automatic in the compact sedan category, Zest has an edge over its rivals - Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze and Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire. Equipped with a 5-speed Automated Manual transmission (Tata calls it F-tronic transmission), Zest offers an ease of driving in the congested cities with Fiat sourced (dubbed as Quadrajet) turbo diesel engine - nation’s diesel engine! Furthermore, Zest debuted company’s new 1.2-liter Revotron turbocharged petrol motor - a segment first and also offers three driving modes. However, petrol is only presented with a five-speed manual transmission.
