Tata-Fiat alliance to continue

There have been a lot of speculations regarding the Tata-Fiat alliance of late. Tata Motors finally made it clear that the Tata-Fiat JV will continue to exist and function. The new strategy adapted by this alliance is that the Italian brand will showcase its products in its independent brand showroom. This has been done in order to to push the sales of Fiat cars. These showrooms will be named 'Image points'. These showrooms will showcase present cars along with the future Fiat models. The company has planned to open two showrooms as of now, one in Pune and one in Delhi.
Speaking on the development,R Ramakrishnan, Tata Motors Vice President (Commercial-Passenger Car Business Unit) said that they are pondering on the ways to improve the ales figure. The company is working towards increasing the sales (with respect to Fiat cars) and are redrawing plans to enhance sales.
Rajeev Kapoor, CEO, Fiat India Automobiles also said that these brand showrooms will help in spreading awareness regarding the brand. He further added that these will be in line with with Fiat’s brand centers elsewhere in the worldTata Motors dreams to become the second largest manufacturer in India, this could be possible if Fiat manages to leave a mark in the Indian auto industry. Hyundai right now has been placed at number two position in the Indian auto industry. Ramakrishnan also confirmed that Fiat cars will continue to sell from Tata motors showrooms as well.
