Finally the new BMW 5-Series has rolled out of its Chennai plant. It is expected that the deliveries will begin somewhere by the end of this month. The 5 series was launched in April. The company had to be a little quick with its production as it had to keep its close rival Mercedes Benz at bay.
The new model of this luxury car maker BMW will be seen on the Indian roads soon this month. Juergen Eder, BMW Plant Managing Director said that the 5 series is the core product of their model range and more importantly, it has contributed to the success and impression of BMW in India. The company is confident that the new model will provide a further momentum to them in the vast luxury car segment of India.
Ranged between Rs 38.9 lakh and Rs 58 lakh, the 523i, 530d and 525d are being produced as CKD, that is, Completely Knocked-Down units. These have been assembled in the Chennai plant. The 535i will be available as CBU, that is, Completely Built-Up unit.
