The updated Nexon now comes in 11 broad variants with names similar to the variants of Tata Punch

Update (14/09/2023): The Tata Nexon facelift has finally been launched, with introductory prices starting at Rs 8.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Nexon Facelift

New Nexon gets four broad trims: Smart, Pure, Creative and Fearless.
The “S” suffix to these variants adds an electric sunroof and some additional features.
Variant-wise powertrain options are not yet announced.
Gets two engine options: a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine.
Will be launched on September 14 at an expected price of Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).

The facelifted Tata Nexon has been unveiled and it now carries a completely different persona. With the update, Tata has also decided to rethink its variant nomenclature and now refers to these variants as the “personas” of the new Nexon. The subcompact SUV’s prices are yet to come out, but its variant-wise features have been revealed on the manufacturer’s website. So if you have your eyes set on the new Nexon, check out what each variant has to offer:

Tata Nexon Smart Variant

With the Smart+ variant, you get all the features of the Smart variant plus an infotainment system with connected car tech.

Tata Nexon Smart+ S Variant

The “S” here stands for sunroof, for which you’ll have to pay a little more over the Smart+ variant. But apart from the sunroof, this variant also gets rain sensing wipers.

Over the Smart+ S, the Pure variant adds some details to the exterior and you get a host of additional features. Do note that the sunroof is offered only with the “S” variants.

The top-spec variant of the new Nexon gets a few extra features for added comfort.

Powertrain Options

The updated Nexon gets the same engines as before: a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine (120PS/170Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (115PS/260Nm). The petrol unit is available with four transmission options: 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and a 7-speed DCT. The diesel unit on the other hand, only gets the two transmission options: 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT.

Launch, Price & Rivals

Tata will reveal the prices of the new Nexon on September 14 and we expect them to start from Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will continue to rival the likes of Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza and Mahindra XUV300.
