Honda

Honda Jazz

  • Honda recalled its entire petrol lineup, except for the fifth-generation City, due to an inoperative fuel pump that could lead to frequent stopping of the engine.

Hyundai

  • Hyundai recalled the Kona due to a possible risk of a short circuit.

Mahindra

  • Mahindra recalled the Thar over improper machining of the camshaft, which could lead to loss of drive to the fuel pump and possibly, stall the car.

Toyota

Toyota’s Entry-level Hatchback And SUV Get Dearer By Up To Rs 34,000

  • Toyota issued a recall for almost 9,500 units of the Urban Cruiser SUV over a major driver-side airbag defect.

  • The airbag on these cars could either malfunction or injure the occupant while deployment.

Mercedes Benz

  • On May 27, 2021, Mercedes-Benz recalled the GLE, A-Class, C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, GLC, CLS, and AMG GT

  • The emergency call system was reported to malfunction in case of an accident due to a temporary drop in the on board electrical system voltage. This could further lead to a delay in emergency assistance.

  • Mercedes recalled the V-Class on May 20, 2021, due to an issue related to head restraints installed in the rear seats of the affected vehicles. Head restraints are constructed in such a way that the height and distance to the back of the head reduce the risk of a neck injury and potential whiplash in the event of an accident. This function is not guaranteed on the affected vehicles.

  • Mercedes also recalled the V-Class on February 1, 2021 over improper placement of the flexible fuel return line. It could come in contact with the edge of the underfloor panelling, which if broken, would lead to a fuel leak.

  • The manufacturer further recalled the GLE on March 10, 2021. In certain circumstances, the middle seatbelt buckle could be pushed into the gap between the vehicle body and the seat cushion, leading to an increased risk.

  • Mercedes-Benz recalled three units of the C220D and S350D sedans in February this year. In these units, the seatbelt warning function would neither display a blinking indicator in the instrument cluster nor a warning tone, but instead, a permanent warning lamp.

  • Lastly, 54 units of the GLC were recalled due to a possible incorrect type-approval number stamped on the catalytic converter.

Porsche

  • Porsche recalled two units of the Cayenne manufacturer in 2020 and 2021.

  • There were chances of the clamping nuts, fitted on the rear axle trailing arms, corroding and breaking over earlier than the expected service life of the car.

Lamborghini

  • Lamborghini recalled eight units of the Aventador due to a possible loss of torque of engine hood screws, which could unlatch the hood at higher speeds.
