Most of the attending carmakers were of French origin with the exception of Stellantis brands such as Jeep
The first Paris Motor Show since the pandemic has been primarily a French affair. It wasn’t quite the same scale as yester years either and most of the showcases were from French automotive brands like Renault, Peugeot, and Alpine. Of the many cars that made their physical debuts in Paris this past week, following are our top picks from brands most familiar to us:
Renault 4EVER Trophy
Renault has been dipping into its archive of iconic models to showcase its modern electrification abilities. This time, it’s the Renault 4 which has been reimagined as a rally-prepped EV. Looking beyond the massive 19-inch, off-roading wheels, carbon fibre panels, and retro-styled details, the 4EVER Trophy previews a watered-down, production-spec, B-segment electric SUV from Renault. It will be underpinned by the same CMF-BEV platform that will be used by other B-segment EVs from the French marque.

Dacia Manifesto
While Dacia has no direct presence in the country, the models from Renault’s sub-division of more affordable cars, such as the Duster compact SUV, have been quite popular in India. It recently got a whole makeover with a new brand identity and its future vision is represented by the Manifesto concept. The vehicle made its digital premiere in September but it has now made its physical premiere at the Paris auto show.

The buggy-style concept is built for the rugged outdoors. It has a robust body with no doors, just two seats, high ground clearance, large off-roading tyres, a waterproof cabin and four-wheel drive. Many of the plastic body parts are made from recycled material, while the interior features eco-conscious materials such as cork on the dashboard.
The Manifesto concept is not going to be heading for production but represents the usual core principles of Dacia models - rugged, simple and practical.
It was showcased alongside a special Duster Mat Edition based on the latest generation of the compact SUV that was never brought to India.
Jeep Avenger 4x4 Concept
The first-ever production-spec Jeep EV is the Avenger and it has made its debut at the Paris show. However, the electric SUV is only a front-wheel-drive offering at the moment. Luckily for Jeep fans, it was accompanied by a four-wheel-drive version in concept form. The Avenger 4x4 Concept bears the 4xe logo, but no details about the potential powertrain have been shared. It also gets visual modifications suited for the purpose such as tow hooks, wider fenders, reworked bumpers for better approach and departure angles, thicker cladding, built-in flood lights and a new, lightweight roof cargo system.
