Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Innova likely to undergo cosmetic change

Toyota India launched Toyota Innova on Indian shores, seven years back, since then only minor touch-ups have been made to this car model, which include a minor facelift in 2009 and minimal upgradation of engine in 2010 to meet BS-IV norms. The reason for minimal upgradation to Toyota Innova seven years back lies in the fact that it defines the MPV segment and still has qualities that keep it a step ahead of its peers. However, recent months have witnessed drastic shifts in the global market so Toyota India has announced the make-over of Toyota Innova and relevant sources have reported that this time Toyota Innova will sport significant facelift.

As per the reports, new Toyota Innova will sport a taller grille with horizontal chrome slats, new headlamps that resemble more like a new day-time headlight element and a new front bumper with new fog lamps as well as new clear-lens tail-lamps. There is also a rumor that in new Toyota Innova, the rear-bumper will integrate parking sensors on the more expensive ‘V’ variant.

It has also been heard that New Toyota Innova will also undergo some interior changes that may include changes to the centre console and instrumentation, as well as add new trim options toToyota Innova. Sources have speculated that new Toyota Innova would display no footprint or motor modifications however some more space may be found in the third row of new Toyota Innova.

Toyota India is also eyeing to revamp Toyota Fortuner which was launched two years back. Toyota Fortuner has earned fame not only in the domestic market but also on International platform. New Toyota Fortuner is expected to sport some cosmetic changes that may comprehend  larger chrome grille with horizontal slats instead of the current honeycomb element, larger headlamps, a new front bumper with new fog lamps and the same for the rear. Some minor changes may also be seen in its interior that mostly relate to trim and instrumentation.

As per the latest update, facelifted Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Innova are expected to hit Indian roads by early-2012, with an upward revision in the price-tag.Toyota India has also marked its entry in the rapidly growing hatchback segment by launching its first hatchback car Toyota Etios Liva , on Monday, in Delhi. Other models of Toyota India currently available in India are: Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla Altis, Toyota Etios, Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Innova, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado , Toyota Land Cruiser and Toyota Prius.
