Toyota Fortuner wins Desert Dash 2010

Desert Dash is a racing competition organised by Cougar Motorsport annually which gives you a fare chance to come up and get your car tested under all variables. The competition is organized annually in the scorching heat of Rajasthan which somehow helps the testing of your car more interesting. The track one has to trace is decided by organisers of Desert Dash and it is different every year. This year the track decided for the competition was from Alsisar Mahal, Alsisar to Aman bagh and the race took total of two days (26th Nov to 28th Nov 2010) covering the total distance of 1600 kms. In 2010 Desert Dash 30 cars participated including some of the most famous models like Toyota Fortuner, Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Mitsubishi Pajero, Range Rover Vogue, Skoda Yeti and Ford Endeavour.

The race started with great zeal and excitement in air and all participants zoomed out for their final destination Aman Bagh, 1600 Km away. End of this race brought Toyta Fortuner as the winner by showcasing real out standing performance on road. The winning was not new to this stunning model as it has tasted it last year as well in the 4WD category. The most favorite BMW 320d stood at first position in the 2WD category. The final score sheet shows Toyota Fortuner being winner of 4WD and BMW 320D winning 2WD. The second position in 4WD was bagged by Ford Endeavour and third position was taken up by Toyota Fortuner, one of the favourite car in its segment.

The Desert Dash 2010 was concluded as a successful event with a token of thanks to its associate sponsors as GAIL India Ltd, Essar Investments and Engineers India Limited. The hospitality partner was Aman Resorts , medical partner as Fortis Healthcare, service partner as Carnation Magneti Marelli and the hydration partner as Qua and last but not the least, Media partners being FHM, Lonely Planet and BBC Top Gear.
