Toyota Motors, one of world's largest car maker, not seems to be coming out of trouble as it announced another recall on Wednesday of 50,000 Sequoia sport utility vehicles in the United States due to problems with vehicle stability control.

The news has come as a blow to the efforts of reclaiming and restoring reputation by Toyota Motors, as in recent days, the company has recalled around 10 million vehicles worldwide, mostly for problems with sudden acceleration. These faults in Toyota vehicles has been blaimed for 58 deaths in the United States alone. However, Toyota said, there were no accidents or injuries associated with the defect with VSC.

According to Toyota Motors, the recall will affect Sequoia sport utility vehicles, which were manufactured in early 2003, so that it can upgrade the programming in the vehicle stability control (VSC) system. The VSC system can help control a loss of traction in turns as a result of front or rear tire slippage during cornering, company said in a statement. In vehicles without the upgrade, the VSC system could, in limited situations, activate at low speed (approximately 9 miles per hour) for a few seconds after acceleration from a stopped position and, as a result, the vehicle may not accelerate as quickly as the driver expects, the statement added.
