The Hyundai Venue was the first subcompact SUV in India to come with level 1 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)
The Hyundai Venue is one of the most popular subcompact SUVs in India known for its stylish design, premium interior, and like all other Hyundai cars, it is tech loaded. In 2023, Hyundai took a bold step to raise the bar on safety, making 6 airbags a standard feature across its entire India lineup. But that’s not all—Hyundai was also the first automaker in India to bring advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), also known as ‘Hyundai SmartSense’, to the subcompact SUV segment with the Venue. Let’s take a closer look at how the Hyundai Venue sets itself apart with these cutting-edge safety features.
Hyundai Venue’s SmartSense packs following features:
Forward Collision Warning
The Hyundai Venue is equipped with a forward collision warning system that detects objects in front of the vehicle that could potentially lead to a collision. Using cameras and radar, Hyundai’s SmartSense technology alerts you, allowing you to react quickly by slowing down or applying the brakes to avoid the collision.
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist detects a vehicle, pedestrian, or a cyclist ahead on the road and alerts you of a possible collision with a warning message on the instrument cluster and a warning sound. It also assists in slowing down the vehicle to reduce the speed of the crash or to prevent the collision.
Lane Keeping And Following Assist
Hyundai also offers the Venue with lane keeping assist and lane following assist features. The lane keep assist detects lane markings on the road via a windshield mounted camera and helps you to stay within the lane by assisting the steering wheel. The lane following assist uses the same method and helps the car to be in the centre of the lane.
Note: The Lane Keeping and Following Assist features are designed to help keep the vehicle within its lane. Please note that these are not autonomous driving technologies, so you should keep your hands on the steering wheel whenever it is required.

Lane Departure Warning
The Lane Departure Warning system monitors lane markers to ensure the vehicle stays in its lane. If, by any chance, the vehicle begins to drift out of the lane, the system alerts the driver to prevent any mishaps.
Leading Vehicle Departure Alert
Hyundai's Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA) is a safety feature that notifies the driver when the vehicle ahead begins to move in stop-and-go traffic. This helps maintain a smooth flow of traffic by keeping the driver alert to the movement of vehicles ahead.
Driver Attention Warning
The Driver Attention Warning system monitors your driving behaviour and alerts you when it detects signs of fatigue or inattention. If your attention level drops below a certain threshold, the system will notify you to help prevent potential risks or accidents.
High Beam Assist
The Venue also comes with a high beam assist feature that automatically toggles between high and low-beam headlights based on the traffic ahead. If another vehicle approaches, the system will automatically switch to low beam. Once the road is clear, it will revert to high beam. This feature helps prevent dazzling other drivers, reducing the risk of accidents.
So these were the 7 Hyundai SmartSense advanced safety features offered with the Hyundai Venue. Which one of these features would you like and why? Let us know in the comments.
