Volkswagen, Europe’s largest auto manufacturer is facing a change in the top management as 2 Managing Directors have switched from the company. The phenomenon is not very rare in the Indian auto industry. The industry has been enjoying a high swing these days and that is resulting in shuffling of top management. The companies apart from enjoying a great progress in this market are also going through a problem of shuffling top management. Volkswagen is a company which is working seriously towards the Indian auto market and is following some aggressive marketing techniques to make its presence prominent.
K K Swamy has been working in Volkswagen India since past 30 months as managing director and vice-president. He was earlier working with Toyota Kirloskar Motors and quit this job in mid-2008 and now he has again taken a switch in just 30 months. Next official is Makham Dhalivaal, who has worked in Volkswagen India as managing director. He too has been reported to put in his papers. As per the reports, Dhalivaal earlier worked as the global director of network development at Bentley Motors and then he replaced Andreas Prinz at Volkswagen India. He made a great progress in by the launch of Volkswagen Jetta, the D-segment car which got a launch in year 2008.
The presence of Volkswagen in India is through its group companies Skoda and Audi. Now the company is working towards a flagship brand. The reports have claimed that the top officials of the company have quit the position at the time when company is going through a crucial time. The company has made an investment of Rs 4,000 crore in order to establish a manufacturing facility in India. At present the company is selling good volume through its two major models, Volkswagen Polo and Volkswagen Vento. Along with these two major models the company also has Volkswagen Jetta, Volkswagen Passat, Volkswagen Beetle, Volkswagen Phaeton and Volkswagen Touareg on its Indian portfolio.
