March 2020 was a rather busy month for Volkswagen as it introduced the new 1.0-litre TSI versions of the Polo and Vento and also launched the Tiguan Allspace and T-Roc SUVs in India. The carmaker has now revised the prices of all the models, except for the T-Roc. Here’s a look at the revised model-wise price list:

The Polo gets a price hike of up to Rs 8,000. While Volkswagen had earlier announced the top-spec Highline Plus variant with an AT gearbox, it has now dropped this variant from the hatchback’s lineup. The new 6-speed AT is offered only with the sportier-looking GT variant.

The Tiguan Allspace was launched in a single fully-loaded variant priced at Rs 33.12 lakh in March 2020. It has now received an increment of Rs 12,000 and retails for Rs 33.24 lakh.
Under the hood, the base-spec Trendline and mid-spec Comfortline variants are powered by a 1.0-litre MPI naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 76PS and 95Nm, while the top-spec Highline Plus and GT variants come with a 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol unit developing 110PS and 175Nm. While the 1.0-litre MPI unit comes equipped only with a 5-speed MT, Volkswagen offers the 1.0-litre TSI engine with both a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT gearbox.
The Vento, on the other hand, is also offered with the same 1.0-litre TSI unit and comes with the 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT gearbox options. The 7-seater Tiguan Allspace comes with a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine (190PS/320Nm). Volkswagen is offering the SUV with the 7-speed DSG (dual-clutch automatic) transmission with an AWD setup.
The Polo goes up against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno/Toyota Glanza, Hyundai Elite i20, Tata Altroz, and Honda Jazz, while the Vento takes on the Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, Skoda Rapid and Toyota Yaris. Volkswagen’s 7-seater SUV rivals the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas G4, and the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq Petrol.
