Volkswagen smiles with 39% growth

Volkswagen India sold a total of 6845 units in September, 2011 and to one’s surprise 6335 units were Volkswagen Polo and Volkswagen Vento. Volkswagen India bagged 39% growth in car sales a compared to sales in September, 2010. Although the breeze editions of Volkswagen Polo and Volkswagen Vento were the show stoppers in September new bride Volkswagen Jetta also stole the show with 739 units sold since its launch in mid-august and 423 units sold last month.

Last September, the company sold 4,663 cars. Mr. Neeraj Garg, Member of Board & Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India said “Despite the low sentiment and slowdown in the market, we are happy to achieve the positive growth. This showcases our offers for customers including the Polo and Vento Breeze action models have been well accepted.”

Volkswagen also rolls out new Volkswagen Passat with Blue Motion Technologies, New Volkswagen Beetle, the powerful SUV Volkswagen Touareg, the luxurious Volkswagen Phaeton in India. The European company is also planning to bring facelift of Volkswagen Vento and Volkswagen Phaeton along with a new hatchback Volkswagen UP! In India very soon. Vento’s facelift will give a neck-to-neck competition to soon-to-be-launched Honda Ciy facelift.
