Volvo India Launches V40 Cross Country Petrol @ Rs 27 Lac

Folks! petrol Volvo V40 Cross Country is here. The Swedish automaker’s Indian subsidiary - Volvo Auto India has launched the petrol version of the V40 Cross Country at Rs 27 Lac (Ex-Showroom, Mumbai). The vehicle is available in a single trim - V40 Cross Country T4 and is the new entry-level variant. The car will be retailed through Volvo dealerships across the country starting today.
The new petrol motor of the V40 Cross Country T4 is a 1.6-liter GTDi (Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection) engine. The 1,596cc turbocharged four cylinder turbo direct injected petrol motor is available in two state of tune globally. But in India, Volvo offered 180 hp version with a max torque of 240 Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The V40 clocks 0-100 kmph in nearly 8.5 seconds.
Tomas Ernberg, Managing Director, Volvo Auto India said,"We are excited to bring the petrol variant of V40 Cross Country to India. Buoyed by the growing acceptance of V40 Cross Country since June 2013 when we launched it here, we have now decided to bring in the petrol variant at a very competitive pricing in order to increase our reach further. I believe our customers would be enthralled with this new car.”
Volvo is synonym for safety and the new V40 Cross Country petrol sticks true to it. The vehicle offers standard safety features like - Laser Assisted Automatic Braking, Dynamic Stability & Traction Control (DSTC), Turn-with Steering Lights (ABL - Adaptive Bending Lights) and Intelligent Driver Information System (IDIS) along with multiple airbags, ABS and others.
