One of the most awaited cars of 2016, the Volvo S60 Cross Country, is all set to be launched on March 11, 2016. First in its segment, the car was previously showcased at the 2015 Detroit Motor Show. This will be carmaker’s first product to be launched this year.
In the international market, the cross-sedan is available with front-wheel drive and an all-wheel drive option. A unique feature of this car is in its height adjustable ground clearance attribute. With this capability, one can not only surf highways with greater stability, but also save themselves from concerns regarding bumpy roads and uneven ground. Keeping in mind this factor, Volvo S60 gets a 65mm more ground clearance than the regular S60 sedan.
Mechanical duties are expected to be carried out by a 5 cylinder 2.4-litre Diesel D4 mill which can produce a maximum power of 178 bhp. Features like sun-roof, heated front seats, reverse parking camera and sat-navigation system which are present in S60, are expected to be carried forward with the cross variant.
The Swedish automaker had launched the petrol version of S60 T6 in India, July of last year. The car was priced at Rs. 42 lac and showed features like active bending projector headlamps with LED DRLs and LED taillamps. The S60 Cross Country is likely to be priced near about in the vicinity of Rs. 55 lac.
