Mercedes-Benz has recently launched the EQE electric SUV in India at Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom)
The Mercedes-Benz EQE electric SUV is the carmaker's fourth all-electric offering in the current Indian lineup. It has been introduced in a single, fully-loaded, all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant, priced at Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom). Though it has a host of features to make your life convenient, there are some quirky details as well, such as how to access the boot. We recently had this electric SUV with us, and here’s how to open the tailgate of this car.

Just Press The Logo
As shown in the video, opening the boot lid of the Mercedes-Benz EQE electric SUV is as simple as pressing the 'Mercedes' logo on the upper side, and it opens automatically. To close the boot, just press the provided close button on the lower part of the tailgate.
This process of pressing the logo to open the boot lid is similar to that of the Volkswagen Polo. The only difference here is that the EQE electric SUV features a powered tailgate.

Features On Offer
Similar to the other Mercedes EQ electric models, the EQE also comes with a 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen setup, which includes a digital driver's display, central infotainment display, and front passenger display. It also gets amenities such as active ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and four-zone climate control, and a 15-speaker 750W Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos.
Its safety features include nine airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), and a 360-degree camera with the transparent bonnet feature. The electric SUV also boasts a full suite advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) including lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and parking assist.
Single Powertrain Option
The EQE electric SUV comes with a 90.56kWh battery pack which can deliver a WLTP claimed range of up to 550km. It feeds power to an all-wheel-drive dual electric motor setup which makes 408PS and 858Nm. It can sprint from nought to 100kmph in 4.9 seconds.
The Mercedes EQE supports multiple charging options such as a 11kW AC wallbox charger and up to 170kW DC fast charging. Using the DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10 to 100 percent in a little over 30 minutes. The EQE electric SUV comes with a battery warranty of 10 years, which is the highest warranty period offered on an EV by any manufacturer.
Rivals
The Mercedes-Benz EQE electric SUV can be regarded as a premium alternative to the Jaguar I-Pace, BMW iX, and the Audi Q8 e-tron.
