The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is available in several markets across the globe, but only as a three-door. It is quite popular in Malaysia too, with a cool Jimny Rhino Edition treatment. The changes are purely cosmetic, but its distinct looks are quite appealing. The ‘Rhino’ here has been associated with Suzuki’s off-roading club, which consisted of the Jimnys and older Grand Vitara.
Exterior Design Changes
Up front, the Jimny Rhino gets an old-school grille with ‘Suzuki’ lettering, instead of the logo. Surrounding the mesh grille is a dark chrome panel which also houses the round headlights. The front bumper has been slightly tweaked with new and sturdy cladding.
On the hood, you get exclusive decals, which also run along its side. The mudguards are in red and there’s also a big decal along the bottom half of the door. There’s extra protection on the side with claddings, to make it more capable for off-roading.
The rear profile remains unchanged, save for the ‘Rhino’ logo on the boot and an identical covering for the spare wheel.

Few Interior Changes
The interior design remains unchanged, save for the premium foot mats. It gets the same all-black theme without any upgraded features. While the Jimny in Malaysia gets a 7-inch touchscreen system, the India-spec five-door model gets a more premium 9-inch unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in the top variant.
No Changes To The Powertrain
The Jimny, in India and Malaysia, uses the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with 4x4 as standard. In India, you get a choice of 5-speed manual and 4-speed AT, while the three-door in Malaysia gets only the latter.

Heading To India?
It’s too early to speculate, but over time we may see this or similar limited editions of the Jimny in India. This Rhino Edition is going to be a collector’s version, as only 30 units will get the treatment. To make it more appealing, we’re expecting some special editions for the five-door Jimny over the years. It’s currently priced in India from Rs 12.74 lakh to Rs 14.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
