Tata will announce the prices of both the ICE and EV models on September 14
Update (14/09/2023): The Tata Nexon facelift has finally been launched, with introductory prices starting at Rs 8.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
-
The Nexon EV is showcased in its top-spec Empowered variant.
-
The ICE Nexon has reached dealerships in the top-spec Fearless persona.
-
Both models look similar, with subtle changes on the exterior and interior.
-
Nexon is expected to be priced from Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom) and the Nexon EV from Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Tata Nexon facelift and Nexon EV facelift have been revealed by the carmaker and bookings are open for both. Tata will announce their prices on September 14, but you can now check out these cars in person as they have reached dealerships ahead of the launch.
Design Differences
From a distance, it's not easy to tell the ICE and EV Nexon apart. But up close, the differences are more prominent. The EV gets a connected LED DRL setup, a closed-off grille and vertical patterns on the bumper and headlamp housing. The side and rear profiles are the same except for the “Nexon” and “Nexon.ev” badges on the bootlid.
Inside, the top variant of the 2023 Nexon EV gets a bigger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an electronic parking brake and ventilated front seats. The Nexon seen here gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen unit and misses out on ventilated front seats as it is not in its top-spec version. It also gets a manual transmission, therefore missing out on the paddle shifters offered with the automatic variants.
Features
The features list of both these models is more or less the same. Between these two units, the common features are a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, sequential turn indicators, touch-enabled AC panel, wireless phone charger and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

In terms of safety, both get six airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rain-sensing wipers, rearview camera and a 360-degree camera with a blind view monitor.
Different Powertrains
The ICE Nexon gets two engine options: a 1.5-litre diesel engine (115PS/260Nm) paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT, and a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine (120PS/170Nm) which gets four transmission options: 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and a 7-speed DCT.

The Nexon EV facelift gets two battery packs – 30kWh and 40.5kWh – paired with an electric motor that churns out 129PS/215Nm and 145PS/215Nm, respectively. The smaller battery pack claims an improved range of 325km and the bigger one claims 465km. Both these battery packs can be charged from 10 to 100 percent in 56 minutes using a DC fast charger.
Price & Rivals
Tata will launch both the facelifted Nexon and Nexon EV on September 14 and we expect them to be priced from Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards, respectively. The ICE Nexon will continue to rival the likes of Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza and Mahindra XUV300, and the Nexon EV will continue its rivalry with the Mahindra XUV400.
