Hyundai Verna, ever since it was first launched in India, has proved to be a tough competitor in the automobile segment. Now, it has entered into its fifth generation with a slew of updates to its exteriors and features. The manufacturer has also revised the entire variant line up and introduced it in five diesel and petrol trims. Among those, Hyundai 4S Fluidic Verna 1.6 VTVT S Option is the mid range variant. It has sharp and stylish exteriors along with spacious and versatile internal cabin, which helps in attracting the buyers. The company has modified this sedan with a lot of updated features like redesigned grille, bumper with slightly bigger air dam, boomerang fog lamps, LED tail light cluster and updated infotainment system. At the the same time, this hatchback series is a perfect combination with comfort, safety and reliability in a package that is affordable and economical. The braking and suspension mechanism are quite efficient and keeps the vehicle well balanced at all times. Its internal cabin is rather spacious and contains a number of necessary equipments for the comfort of its occupants. It has dual tone interior color that gives it a classy look. Interiors:
The spacious internal cabin of this variant can easily take in five passengers. It is incorporated with well cushioned seats, which are covered with fabric upholstery and provide ample leg space for all occupants. These are integrated with adjustable head restraints. The driver seat is electrically adjustable, while rear has split foldable function, which helps in increasing the boot volume of car. The cabin looks more decent with metallic insert on parking lever tip, gear shift knob and inside door handles. Its dashboard is equipped with AC vents, a large glove box with cooling effect, three spoke steering wheel and an advanced instrument panel with a few functions. The slightly modified center console is equipped with an advanced infotainment. Its dual tone internal cabin is complimented by blue illumination. The company has given it a number of utility based aspects that adds to the convenience of its occupants. The list includes, cup and bottle holder, front and rear center armrests, front seat back pockets, assist grips with coat hook, rear parcel shelf with vanity mirror, remote fuel lid opener and so on. It also has a 12V power socket in center console for charging mobiles and other electronic devices.
Engine and Performance:
Under the bonnet, this Hyundai 4S Fluidic Verna 1.6 VTVT S Option variant is equipped with 1591cc petrol engine, which carries for cylinders and sixteen valves using VTVT technology. It is integrated with a multi point fuel injection supply system, which allows the sedan to deliver a decent mileage under standard traffic conditions. The company claims that the vehicle has the ability of producing 12.5 Kmpl approximately within the city and its mileage goes up to a maximum of 15.74 Kmpl on the bigger roads. This motor is coupled with a five speed manual transmission gear box that sends the engine torque to its front wheels. It allows the sedan to zoom towards a top speed in the range of 190 to 196 Kmph and it can cross the speed barrier of 100 Kmph in close to 10.5 seconds from a scratch. This petrol mill can churn out a maximum power of 121.4bhp at 6300rpm, while generating a peak torque of 154.9Nm at 4200rpm, which is rather good for Indian road conditions.
Braking and Handling:
For keeping the vehicle well balanced and stable, the company has given it a reliable braking as well as suspension mechanism. It front wheels are fitted with a set of discs, while rear gets conventional drum brakes. It is further augmented by anti lock braking system along with electronic brake force distribution, which prevents from wheel locking and offers a precise braking on the go. It is incorporated with a speed sensitive electric power steering system that is tilt adjustable for helping the driver to steer the vehicle with utmost ease. Being the mid range variant, this Hyundai 4S Fluidic Verna 1.6 VTVT S Option variant is equipped with a number of sophisticated features, which gives the occupants a comfortable traveling experience. Its automatic air conditioning system comes along with cluster ionizer for clean air, which will eventually keep the interiors pleasant and hygienic. The rear view camera has a display on ECM (electro-chromic mirror) that helps in easy parking and it also has reverse parking sensor as well. It has an advanced driver information system, which houses a digital tachometer, an electronic tripmeter, low fuel warning light, outside temperature display, door ajar warning, driver seat belt notification and many other such aspects for keeping the driver updated. The advanced 2-DIN music system is now integrated with 1GB internal memory.
