Celerio 2014-2017 LXI AT Optional Review
Maruti Celerio LXI AT Optional is a mid range variant in this newly launched model series. It comes with very minimal revisions to its safety features. A highlight of this new car is the ABS system, which ingrains stability into the drive. Safety is also ordained with a driver's seatbelt warning, a key off/on reminder and a headlamp on reminder. The slender body lines by the side accentuate the sporty character of the vehicle, along with the neat window frames. The car is offered in a range of attractive colour schemes, ranging from blazing red and cerulean blue to silky silver. This makes for a more personalised touch for the benefit of the customers. The interior design exudes an aura of style and comfort. A ticket holder is present by the sunvisor, and 3 position cabin lighting ensures that gloomy times do not hamper the joy of the drive. An information display integrated cluster instrument cluster adds to the sophisticated feel of the interior. Wired into this are fuel consumption readings and a 12V power socket, which enables charging within the car. Coming to the raw side of the vehicle, it is armed with a K10B engine, which makes for strong speed characteristics. It delivers a mileage of 23.1kmpl, which is a mark among vehicles of its class.
Exteriors:
The vehicle exerts a sporty charisma by virtue of its low height and graceful body tone. It has been further underscored with the addition of fine themes and a variety of colour packages. Starting with the front, the attractive grille is given a bright material treatment for a more exalting effect. On either side, the sleek headlamp clusters have been incorporated with all necessary lighting units for the surest visibility. The front bumper is body coloured, bringing unity in the outer design. A wide air intake section at the bottom works to keep the engine cool, and adds to the look of the front. The hood is glazed with two swiping lines, which render a more energetic aura to the front. Coming to the side, the neatly designed wheel rims and the gentle fenders are attractive elements as well. The 'CICO' styling by the body further underlines the trendy persona of the vehicle, and it brings to light a more modern tone for the vehicle. At the rear, the emblem of the company is adorned by the centre of the tailgate, making a distinct impression for the model.
Interiors:
The limited space has been treated with the best of comfort and utility aspects, ensuring that the occupants are given the finest experience. The seats are built on strong ergonomic design, ensuring the least discomfort for the passengers. Fine clothing has been wrapped over the seating as well, adding a plush element to the experience. Integrated headrests are present at the front and the rear, blending comfort with safety for the benefit of the occupants. A floor carpet is also present for the best convenience measure, and this is further enhanced with the presence of 5 drink holders and 3 assist grips as well. The front panel has been given a unique and more pleasant treatment with the numerous different materials. The driver benefits from a 3 spoke Urethane steering wheel which strengthens the look of the cabin.
Engine and Performance:
Powering the vehicle is a 1.0-litre K-series petrol engine, which has been formatted to meet the BS4 emission norms. With a displacement capacity of 998cc, the engine consists of 3 cylinders and 4 valves within each cylinder. The plant brings out a power of 67bhp at 6000rpm, together with a torque of 90Nm at 3500rpm. For this variant, there is a 5 speed automatic transmission that renews the drive experience and eliminates hassle for the driver.
Braking and Handling:
For the front arm of the suspension, McPherson strut has been integrated, while a coupled Torsion beam axle has been armed onto the rear. For both of the axles, coil springs have also been mounted for a more efficient drive with minimal strains. Coming to the braking system, there are ventilated discs rigged onto the front and drums on the rear, which work together to ensure a smooth and hassle free braking. The electronic power steering system also strengthens the handling quality, ensuring minimal hassle for the driver.
Comfort Features:
A manual air conditioning system, together with a heater, ensures that that a pleasant atmosphere permeates the cabin space always. In addition to this, there is also a fuel lid opener, pivot type outside mirrors, and a power steering system which augments comfort for the driver. For this variant, there is an exclusive tachometer, which makes the driver's job easier. Going along with this, there is a low fuel warning lamp, a door ajar warning lamp, and a gear position indicator. A glove box is present along with a lid, ensuring that the needs of the occupants are taken care of. A black dial type climate control facility is also a noteworthy aspect within the car.
Safety Features:
A new feature for this variant is the anti lock braking system, which programs a safe and stable drive without skidding and locking. Airbags for both front occupants ensure that a mishap is not met with critical injuries. Dual front airbags are new feature for this new variant. For the rear occupants, there are 2 point centre seatbelts, which affirm security when driving. Headlight levelling facility has been incorporated onto the headlamps, giving an added element of safety when driving. Also present are a high mounted stop lamp, child proof rear door locks, front wipers with intermittent functioning, The immobiliser ensures that the security of the vehicle is also taken into account.

- Grievance regarding performance of maruti suzuki celerio AmtThe above-mentioned car was delivered to me through sai service in Aug 2014. Ever since this car is in operation, on a number of occasions, defective things were noticed and due to that, we experience difficulties in getting a day to day service. This car is just 2 and a half-year-old and has completed just 15000 kilometers and also vehicle has been serviced regularly at authorized Service Station (Sai Service Pvt. Ltd) as prescribed in the owner's manual. This car is used only as a family car and being run on good condition roads in the city area. From last one month, the car starts jerking while shifting gears and making some unusual noise from engine compartment. At this stage now the car is with the authorized dealer (Sai Service Pvt. Ltd. Virar west) for a couple of weeks and it seems that the dealer until now has not been able to detect the fault and put the vehicle on the road smoothly. They already replaced many parts from the transmission but engine noise problem remains as it is. The dealer now suggests that engine will be required to be open to see if the fault can be overcome. At the moment my vehicle is under extended warranty even though on opening the engine and transmission certain parts not covered under the warranty, will be charged me as the dealer said. This will become a financial liability to me even when my vehicle is used very less and with extensive care. Further beyond warranty period if this is going to be the same scenario it ultimately resulting in a big financial liability in the time to come for me. By all these means it seems that vehicle is brought out having manufacturing defects. When Maruti Suzuki claims to be a number one brand in customer satisfaction, I deserve to be called back for a defective vehicle.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG : Economical HatchbackI had purchased my vehicle in End week of October 2015 and after a long time that is nearly 14 months I am writing this honest review on this Maruti Celerio CNG. Believe me that by reaching the end of this article you will have no further query left about this car. As before this Car I was using Maruti A-star, which was in petrol version, and I had exchanged my old A-star for this new Celerio CNG. For your notice I would like to say that CNG kit in this car is fitted by Maruti Suzuki (same as we had already seen in Alto or WagonR). This CNG model comes in VXI Manual Transmission only. This VXI CNG model is missing company fitted stereo, Fog Lights and some basic accessories for which you have to go to outside dealers. Firstly I would talk about price, so the on-road price of this car is Rupees 5,45,000 approx. And as you know that this car is missing with company fitted accessories so I bought accessories for the car from the dealer itself (which is DD Motor, Peeragarhi, New Delhi). In accessories I had purchased One touchscreen Infotainment display of Sony model no. XAV 68BT (Rupees 18,000), and 4 Sony speakers (Rupees 2,000 for full set of four), 1 Pair of Fog Lights (Rupees 3,200), and One Reverse Parking Camera 'without sensors' (Rupees 4,000). Now I would surely like to share about my experience regarding accessories, firstly if you want to buy Sony touchscreen infotainment system then I would not recommend you because it can't be able to run Full HD videos and the video formats supported by it is very limited. Secondly if you want a reverse parking camera then I would like to say that you should buy both that is camera as well as sensors because it makes me very difficult to park at tight places due to absence of distance judging sensors. So at last of this para I would like to calculate the full price of the car which is 5,45,000 + 18,000 + 2,000 + 3,200 + 4,000 = Rupees 5,72,200. Now come on looks, yes you are thinking right that looks differs from person to person, but in my opinion it looks good (that's why I bought it). No doubt that this car look compact from outside but I really get amazed when I saw its cabin, truly saying its very much spacious from inside. The seats of this car is average in terms of comfortable because seats are very thin as compared to Swift or some Ford or VW car's seat. The dashboard quality is quiet impressive and is far better than Alto or WagonR's dashboard. The odometer & tachometer is also improved, and the beautiful thing in that is that it shows the Level of CNG remaining (CNG Gauge) same as Petrol Gauge in that meter. This car is ideal for four persons to sit in but five persons can also sit comfortably if they are not fatty. Now when I opened the boot, you will not believe, I really get surprised by seeing that awesome engineering done in the fitting of CNG cylinder and the position of spare tyre which is made very much easy to access as compared to WagonR CNG model. Though the boot containing a large 9Kg CNG cylinder but don't worry it's not too much tight as you can also place your light luggage like travelling bags, office bags etc. in it. Now it's time to come under the hood, it's having a 1.0 litre engine which generates a power of 58 bhp with 78 N-m torque. Now it's time to discuss the favourite part of our middle class family that is mileage and maintenance. As I am driving it from last 14 months and having a full experience of driving in city jams like Delhi as well as I had also driven it on National Highways and Yamuna Expressway and had taken up 3 Services of the car at Maruti Centre. So the real data based on experience is following : 1. Mileage in city (CNG Mode) : 25 Km/Kg 2. Mileage in city (Petrol Mode) : 17 Km/L 3. Mileage on Highway (CNG Mode) : 30 Km/Kg 4. Mileage on Highway (Petrol Mode) : 21 Km/L 5. Mileage on Expressways (CNG Mode) : 34 Km/Kg 6. Mileage on Expressways (Petrol Mode) : 23 Km/L Now the last term which is maintenance. As I had serviced it after running 10,000 Km (apart from those service which is done initially after one and six month), so after running 10,000 Km, I paid a total amount of Rupees 4,900 which is nearly Rupees 5,000. The service cost of CNG car is nearly Rupees 2,000 more than the Petrol version because it uses Synthetic Engine oil.So you can roughly calculate that for maintenance it is nearly Rupees 5000 per 10,000 Km. At last in conclusion I would like to say that if you are a city driver and want to enjoy little highway trips on weekend then this car is really for you due to its low running cost. It's really very economical as compared to petrol cars and made for those who use car on daily basis and a frequent traveler in cities. - Celerio- Best car for daily use...ExcellentI use celerio in automatic after my learning of cars, & i can proudly say, this is a best car for daily use. Driving comfort for a new learner & lady is good, easy to drive & small & attractive look of this car, make anyone lover of this. I use red colour celerio, which is very good looking. Celerio is a hatchback small car which means you can easily fit your car anywhere while you lives in metro cities, very crowded place,very easy parking & small place is require to fix your car anywhere.The city mileage of around 15 kmpl, almost no-maintenance and good ride quality make it a perfect daily commuter. However, the positioning of lock is very odd. In terms of design and styling, the new Celerio is definitely a step ahead. However, its narrow and tall body-built gives it a boxy feel.It's a decent performer on city roads, but we would suggest people not to buy it for highway cruise don't expect much in terms of features or gizmos. The interiors feature a heavy use of hard plastics. The glove-box isn't one of the neatest around and uses some pretty basic mechanisms.
