- Fiat Avventura Rugged Version of Punto HatchbackCompact SUVs are all rage these days. Fiat also decided to foray in the segment with its compact SUV Avventura a few years back. Though, by looks and purpose, it's more like a compact crossover. On the face of it, the car may look like a Punto armed with a strong suit, but the changes are much deeper than it appears to eyes. The large spare wheel cover at the back is the most defining element of this car. The aggressive styling continues across the car with tough cladding on the bumper, skid plates, side body cladding and roof rails, distinguishing it from the Punto hatch. If you really want to take the advantage of this car, choose the turbo-diesel variant instead of the lackluster petrol engine that too comes without ABS and airbags. The dynamics of Avventura is further enhanced with excellent ground clearance and the recalibrated suspension-setup which provides mature riding experience, especially on off-roads. When you drive this car on highways, you will realize the real potential of ride and handling. The inside of the car is a blend of old and new and mostly taken straight from Punto with a few exceptions. All an all, Avventura is a good effort from the Italian automaker, but a lot has to be done to keep pace with the market, especially the after sales and service which is limited across the country.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Avventura Means AdventureThis is my first car which I love. When I saw this car this car I was astonished by its looks. The swept back headlamps, the skit plate, sparkling orange colour and the tailgate mounted the spare wheel are wonderful. There are some cons in performance in petrol but dude this is not a racing car. The soft touch panel and the interior is great the instrument cluster the seats are comfortable as per Fiat standards. However, the transmission sluggish but that is fine. The back seats have that feeling of being safe and airy. The air conditioner is very effective and rear AC vents should be offered in dynamic variant but now there is a touch screen 5 inch LCD display that has quality issues but I like it and is now standard on across all variant. After driving this you have that commanding view and feel a bit lazy before 3000 RPM but after that, you feel punchy. Fiat has improved everything from built to sales and honestly I visited the Fiat plant and power train they are not only making their own cars but for others like Tata and Maruti. I would say that this is a great car at this price but the biggest problem is the service of Fiat but it is trying to improve its network.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Unique Blend Of Looks And PerformanceLook and Style: Undoubtedly the best looking car in the segment in terms of exteriors and interiors, rear wheel adds an SUV look while big alloys give the attitude and stance of a premium car. A welcoming interior never lets you feel bored. Comfort: Stiff suspension so no need to worry about tarmac or broken roads. Big tyres and high ground clearance can let you go anywhere you want. But I was driving a sedan prior to that so the ride is a bit bumpy on an uneven road but that's not a bother, steering is a delight to play as it's a very sturdy unit and stays connected with the road giving you confidence in 3 digits speed. Seat cushion is best in class, head room is average, can be a problem if you are above 6 feet, gear shifting is a concern as it's not the smoothest shift among competitors. Pickup: A decent punch of pickup, no hassles while overtaking at all, given it's a very heavily built vehicle but even then it's good at gaining high speeds, again remember it's not a proper SUV so expect a little pickup but you will get more than sufficient. Mileage: A very decent 17 kmpl in local that too without service and on a normal ride, quite satisfactory. Best Features: Looks, tyres, alloys, ground clearance, mileage, different interiors and award winning MJD engine. Needs to improve: Airbags and ABS should be made standard across all variants. Overall Experience: Fine experience dealing with Fiat guys, have knowledge of the product.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Excellent Car With Family NeedsLook -This is what makes you to at least go and have a look at the car. The catchy wheel and the roof, mountings. Comfort- Yes, in fact, good. They have increased the wheel size and ground clearance which really suits the vehicle as well as the ride. The vehicle does turn itself in sharp turns. Pickup- The one thing which is necessary and I find in this is a bit low but not bad. You would find this only at the time of overtaking but sufficient as it's a utility vehicle. Mileage- Petrol delivers decent 14-15 kmpl because of increased length and weight. It's okay with me. Best Features- Alloys as standard and spare wheel separated. Needs to improve - Power if possible. Try to launch it with TSI engine that would be fabulous. Overall Experience: Really good because it suits my needs. I have a family of 5 members and I am a surfer too so can fix my utilities on the rack. Yes, it might not be a real off-roader but it can attempt a little at least which is what I want.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
