Latest Update: The next-gen Skoda Kodiaq has been spotted testing for the first time in India.

Launch: Skoda is expected to launch the new SUV in India in early 2025.

Price: Skoda’s flagship SUV is expected to have a starting price of Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom).

Seating Capacity: The new Kodiaq will be offered in both 5- and 7-seater layouts.

Engine & Transmission: The second-gen Skoda Kodiaq get multiple powertrain options globally: a 1.5-litre mild hybrid petrol engine (150PS), a 2-litre turbo petrol engine (204PS), a 2-litre diesel engine (150PS/193PS) and 1.5-litre turbo petrol plug in hybrid engine with a 25.7kWh battery pack (204PS). 

Save for the plug-in hybrid, all other engines are mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT), while the former is paired with a 6-speed DCT. The 2-litre turbo petrol and 2-litre diesel engine also gets the option of all-wheel-drive (AWD) drivetrain.

Features: It gets amenities such as a 13-inch touchscreen unit, a 10.25 inch digital driver’s display, optional heads-up display and a cooled, dual phone box in the second row which can charge two smartphones simultaneously at 15W. Other features include powered front seats with cooling and heating functions, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof.

Safety: Safety kit includes up to nine airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) like automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane assist and parking assist functions. 

Rivals: The second-gen Kodiaq will compete with Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian and MG Gloster.
