- Tata Indica V2- Durable Car With Good Mileage and Boot SpaceI recently had a chance to drive my friend's Tata Indica V2 when I needed to go for a the long journey from Mumbai to Pune. I have to say that despite its average looks, the car doesn't compromise on performance. It has got nice pick up good fuel efficiency, which is, of course, acceptable to common Indian man wanting more for less. Tata Indica V2 is a family car with very low maintenance cost that seems to be the most important for any customer. The dashboard is fair while the overall quality of interiors is below average as compared to contemporaries. Driver's seat is height adjustable and at the rear, it gets enough leg space with 3 adults are able to sit comfortably. The boot space available in the car is quite pleasing, best then what Maruti Swift offers. For better safety, Tata Indica V2 comes with side-impact beams, collapsible steering columns, child safety locks, headlamp leveler and rigid monochrome frame. Tata Indica gets 1.4L diesel motor that can generate the power output of 54PS and peak torque of 85Nm. This car is known for its good endurance, durability, and one can easily travel the length and breadth of the country.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- I LIKE MY INDICA VERY MUCHI liked the indica as when i gone to purchase a car in tata showroom. I liked its fully mechanical controlled engine in which any kind of sensor is used in the engine. It is easily repaired by myself as all parts are easily available in market at right price. A premium car have superior crafts man ship. It has a wonder full 1300 cc diesel engine which is very power full as it cannot leave me in any kind of weather conditions and in any kind of very tilted slope. As it is drived for 200000 km it cannot give any kind of major problem in it. Its air conditioner is very power full as it cools the car in 5 minutes from starting the ac. It cannot need of any kind of service and repair or any kind of service is done until. I travel to most of my places on it it cannot give me any kind of problem in my trip it very comfortable and very good interior quality. I like my car very much as it is very helpful to me.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Tata Indica eV2 (Diesel) : My first ufordable hatchbackI have this eV2 CR4 LX purchased in Dec 11. During last 5 yrs and 1 month, it has been driven by just 60 kms per day for office up & down. It has good looking Exterior. No specific features in this car, space is good, and not comfortable hard shock-absorbers. Pickup and speed is nice, fuel economy acceptable for all class, gear box e are not better than other diesel hatchbacks. Above 60kmph we feel like sailing in highways but in normal roads its like cart or lorry in travelling. Tata motors should do the suspension good and make the road grip, soft shock absorbers and strong axles, noiseless engine, this will be the indias no one diesel hatch back, if this car have the above changes it will definitely beat the swift, polo etc, now its engine pickup was too good. Areas of improvement Interior, roadgrip, axle importantly suspension & shock-absorbers for front and rear, strong dashboards. led fog lampfor front and rear may improve the class of the car. In conclusion I'm satisfied with Indica eV2. Because It full filled my needs in my price range Thanks TATA.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Good for travelsGood : GOOD STABILITY,SAFETY ON HIGHWAYSBad : sluggish with AC on because of 54 bhp only It is about TATA INDICA DLG BSIII which I purchased in 2004 April. The car is really wonderful on highways with excellent stability ,vibration free inner environment and comfortable seating for 3 adults in the back. In a given situation 6 adults can sit with some adjustments ,though little uncomfortably. With AC switched on for 1300 km run to Shirdi at 42 degree temp it gave me an average of 19.5 km per litre diesel. What more you want for Rs.4,43,000 on road price with music system. I touched only up to 120 kmph some times and 110 kmph very often on high ways ; while driving you feel that the car is heavy and clutching on to the road with great grip. This is the reason Maruthi's and santros immediately give way to you when you give horn. Overtaking buses, trucks is not very difficult even with this low bhp of 53.5 ! You will run behind with same speed as bus or truck and when you get your way on small roads ,you downshift to 4th and overtake with ease and comfort. no problem. In city driving Indica is much easier because of high torque , I think. I never had performance problem except in peak summers when AC is on.But once the car is cooled by AC strangely Indica goes very well even in the city.Without AC however it is a real wonderful vehicle in city drive or in highway. I advice people to take Indica turbo with 62 bhp which is equalant to Palio in performance. But much better vehicle would be turbo DLG or DLX because they have 68 bhp , which shall be far better !Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Family CarIt is a family car with very low maintenance cost. The fuel economy is comparatively better in this segment and price. Comfort and easy drive in the city and also in the highways with a fuel economy of 22 to 25 kmpl. Tata original spares at a very economical price helps us to maintain the car in a good condition. The comfortable captain seat in the front with adjusting features is good. The good amount of leg space available in the rear seat is awesome for 3 adults to occupy. The quality of plastic used for the dashboard is good and the interior seems to be good for the price given. The space available in the dashboard is good to accommodate a first aid box and also the space above the dashboard is also very big to keep 5 to 6 mobiles. The instrumental cluster is amazing with white and red led lights. The boot space is also large when compared to other cars in the segment. The radial wheels provide good support and grip on the roads with the maximum speed of 140 kmph. The spares in the bonnet are clearly visible and not covered and if you know some information about the car you yourself can identify the problem you are facing if any. Lastly, the service provided by Tata is also amazing with the help of the 4 years extended warranty and a very low maintenance cost which is very important for all car buyers.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Better go for some other vehicle.I own this Tata Indica DLX . Tata Indica. one of the failure vehicle of Tata. After completing 50000 K.M. its many of parts get to be changed or you can say better you purchase any other vehicle. It becomes useless. Any how it gives good milege but as it covers 10000 K.M. you need to manage with fuel consumption. Its not comfortable at all. There is no guarantee which part of vehicle will become in condition to replace. So, its expendaturous vehicle with no much facility and it will make you disturb mentally also. So, my advice to go with better car, if you can not go with best, despite of having worse. Main issue with this model is battery! It drains and gives up so fast within 8 months. It needs to get its battery replaced in a quick succession of time. You'll miss out on features like keyless entry, central locking remote, fog lamps, engine immobiliser, electrically-operated ORVMs, audio system with Bluetooth, heating, rear power windows, and that metallic moustache on its rear end. Other good brands are not offering all these but are offering some of the features under thr same price section. I really really had a very bad experience with TATA !! So I'll prefer not to commit this mistake again and will prefer going with some other brands that are better than TATA ..!!Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- TATA INDICA: something below and averageSince, many years tata groups has constantly updated their most valued car, yes you're right! I'm talking about none other than TATA INDICA. since years tata is constantly bring about the best side of it, be it the entry level car or it's most premium car. TATA INDICA is the car for someone who is looking for reputed brand at affordable price. It has got all those features of an entry level car that one should possess. Let's start with it's exterior, the long pulled front headlights give it a beast look and the long stretched back lights. but the look from the side hasn't changed much. It still reminds me of Indica of 2000s, but let's not forget it's tata their might be some upgradation. Ground clearance is decent. Talking about the interior it has power steering, with all 4 power windows, remote trunk opener which is something new in this segment, remote fuel lid opener. To my shock lumbar support is introduced which is a new feature for everyone. talking about music system, in times of touch screen tata is missing on it. There is no touch screen operated music system, there is no navigation system which most of the other rivals provide. but the plus side is that it isn't oudated, it has got bluetooth connectivity also one thing that was missing was parking sensors, steering mounted controls. instrument cluster were found almost similar to older version. Getting in and out of the car was pretty decent. headroom in the backseat (according to my height which is 5'6 for reference) is decent. legroom was also decent. The material used for dashboard was also not upto the mark. The boot space is adequate to house those one large suitcase. Although you can increase the boot space by pulling down the backseats which provides you adequate space for housing the bags but you won't get a flattish boot. Those power windows button is downside for TATAs as they're placed alongside the gears which means for everytime you have to get little bit of down for pressing those power windows buttons, REALLY IT IS DOWNSIDE! The cushioning of the seats is "average", it doesn't provide you much comfort on those long journeys where you're going to hit the roads. At the end of the day you might feel tired or might be concerned about your BACK! comfort and music department is something where TATA needs to do their homework! Power steering is decent. The road side service of TATA is plus point for it. Talking about the engine. The Indica eV2 comes with just one diesel engine and a 62bhp, 1.2-litre MPFI petrol motor. We drove the 1,396cc, common-rail, CR4, a Tata-developed diesel motor that's borrowed from the Indica eCS. As we've witnessed earlier, the engine churns out a lacklustre 69bhp and 140Nm of torque, and misses out on refinement and outright punch. The eV2 is no speed demon and won't heave you to triple-digit speeds in a hurry it takes a leisurely 16.44 seconds from standstill to 100kph. The Indica eV2 felt more at home in the city, with good initial response from the throttle, while not showing any great urgency in getting ahead of the rest out on the highway. The verdict A budget, no-nonsense commuter vehicle with decent features that will get you from A to B without burning a hole in your wallet!Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Value For Money CarTata, a pure Indian company makes cars which has spaces like Ambassador, has power like Mercedes, and price like Maruti 800. Being a car enthusiast, I can pretty well state that the car Tata Indica is fair in terms of ride quality and handling. Right from the first drive till today, I can say it could easily give Santro a great competition. I got this 1205CC diesel engine car in just Rs. 4.35 L. Tata really makes unique type cars. All world cars on one side and Tata's Indica on another side. Despite being a hatchback, it is very spacious and three adults were able to fit in quite comfortably in the backseat. This hatch is decent in terms of comfort and looks and as far as the price point is concerned. It gets a good-looking cabin, with those bright beige seats set against black interior plastics and that silver console. Talking about exteriors, it gets big headlamps with fog lamps. It is a very good car for those who like to own a big-size looking car at around 400K. The Indica is what established Tata as a manufacturer of passenger cars, and it sells well even today simply because it offers unbeatable value. It is a supermini car produced by the Indian manufacturer Tata Motors since 1998.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
