    Lovely comfortable drive.
Yaris Y20 is a lovely comfortable drive. The manual transmission is very easy and has a tasteful steering wheel with a gear stick. The added seat comfort makes longer journeys run faster. The contrast color is favorable throughout.

A highly underrated car But has got potential
The car is well built and remains planted and glued to the road at all times. The manual I drove seemed sluggish and it took some time to get off the line but the automatic has it sorted out I really don?t know how while both the cars having the same engine. The CVT is good and does the job for the city and on the highway, you might have to build speed slowly and progressively. It does not like to be pushed to build speed all of a sudden and when you want to quickly overtake and you hit the gas, the downshift comes pretty quick but the noise from the engine would make you want to slow down. I personally preferred the Phantom Brown color as the excessive black treatment on the grill would be masked and I think it looks good in this color. The AC does a good job cooling the cabin in a few minutes but the vents on the sides blow very little air while the vents in the middle do most of the job. Getting into a comfortable driving position is pretty hard. You have to fiddle with the different hight and reclining angles to finally find the perfect driving position. I don't know why the armrest exists. You can?t rest your arm on it as the driver and it hinders the space for the passenger sitting in the middle in the back. I got the base J variant AT as I thought the rest were pricey. The music system is old and takes some time to figure out how to navigate it. The rear seat is comfortable but tall passengers would need to sit on the edge of the seats to prevent their head from banging the room while the car crawls over speed bumps. But on top of all these seven airbags from the base model is what made me want to buy the car. Its reassurance and safety are of top priority for the Toyota Yaris. And apart from the Vento and the Rapid, the Yaris is the only other car in it?s class to have torsion stabilizing bars for the suspension. It could be the reason why all these cars are so planted on the highway at high speeds. And the bonus with Toyota is running and maintenance costs. It's certainly not the car for people looking for all the gadgets and gizmos in their new car, well for that there are the more expensive higher variants. And since they are very expensive such people would easily side with a Verna perhaps. If all you care is about raw dynamics and specifications and if you wish to enjoy your car while driving and not while it's standing still, goes for it especially the AT. It's a heavily underrated car but is also extremely practical. It may not impress any young buyer but it will certainly impress the wise and the greys.
