Mahindra XUV 500 W8 Honest Review

I purchased Mahindra XUV 500 W8 model in the year 2012. This car is indubitably a winner in terms of looks. But when you are buying a car worth more than 15 Lakhs than you need to be very much sure about each and every bit of the car. Let me talk about Pros. & Cons. of this car. Pros. Looks : As i told you is really impressive. It has got curves and is very stylish from both front and rear. Tyre size is also appropriate and suits the overall look of the car. You also have an opportunity to choose between wide range of available colors. Though Black is my favourite. Interior & Console: It is also really impressive. You have a LCD situated in the middle. Different features have different buttons for their usage present in the console. Moreover important features like bluetooth- phone connectivity, cruise control, voice control and sound control have buttons present on steering itself. Dash boards are highly stylish and space inside them is appropriate and you can put lot of stuff inside it. Plus there is a small area behind gear where AC vent is also available where you can keep your drinks which will remain cool while you are driving. There is also space to keep glasses between front two seats. Doors of the car have enough space to keep bottles in them. Power window is also very efficient and doesn't make much sound. USB port and mobile charging points are also available. Music system is really good and you can have really good driving while listening music. You can also watch Videos but you need to park your car for that as it wil not open if you are driving. Lights are present on the roof above each and every seat so that you can turn it on according to your need. AC vents are present from front till back ans they are highly efficient. Arm rest is also present between back row seats which can be very useful for long drives and makes your ride comfortable. Huge leg space is there so you can actually relax and ride. In the last row either you can upright it for sitting or you can fold it for keeping luggage. AC : Superb. It cools the entire car within five minutes and is highly efficient during summers. Features : You get very high end features like Cruise Control, Voice Control, etc. Mileage: Good city mileage of around 12-15 KMPL in city & 14-18 on High Way. This is one feature which is very good for a SUV. Good to drive in city. Mahindra has used its MHawk engine which is really good and doesn't create any problem. Cons. Build Quality : Poor for a SUV. Mostly Plastic body which make sit look like a Toy car. Bobbling starts if you cross speed of 100 which is pathetic for a SUV. Very risky to take it for a long trip as you never get a confidence which a high end SUV should give you. Poor service quality at Mahindra Service centres. Never ending Software issues. If you are not a travel freak and you prefer riding in city mostly than this car is for you. If you are planning for long trips specially on hills i doubt if this should be you r choice. Better go for other SUV's of this range.
