Latest Update: The third-generation Volkswagen Tiguan has been unveiled globally.
Launch: It can be launched in India by February 2025.
Price: Volkswagen could price it from Rs 37 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.
Seating Capacity: It will continue to be a five-seater mid-size SUV.
Engine and Transmission: Volkswagen hasn’t shared details of its powertrain, but in the international market, it will come with a turbo-petrol, diesel, turbo-petrol mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid engine options. The plug-in hybrid powertrain will allow it to go for 100km purely in EV mode.
Features: The new Tiguan gets a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver’s display, heads-up display, panoramic sunroof, auto-heated and ventilated seats with massage function and a 4-way adjustable lumbar support.
Safety: In terms of passenger safety, it will come with multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC) and ADAS features like lane change assist, lane keep assist, auto emergency braking and parking assist.
Rivals: It will continue to rival the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and Citroen C5 Aircross.
