- 9 years with my FIAT PUNTO ACTIVEFiat is for those who love the car, who loves driving, who gives weight-age to Safety rather than Kmpl figures. I'm one among those who have early awaited for FIAT PUNTO in India and purchased in 2009. The odometer reading says 1,65,000 but the spirit remains the same as the first day of my ride with this car. Even today, no hatchback can match this solid car on high ways or on city roads, with respect to 'speed with safety'. On the whole, I have spent around 1.50 lakhs for service so far which is equivalent to Rs 1/km. Not a bad figure to reveal about the car which you admire a lot. If you want to stay away from the crowd...go with FIAT. Else... you have a basket of Japanese and Korean products to use.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Worst car everOld Punto is excellent, Punto Evo worst car in economy range. Servicing and maintenance cost rs1.5 per km. No peak up, no space and servicing centre mechanics are totally half-minded.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Best car with worst service - a review after 4 years of onroad experienceI am writing this review after four years of my driving experience. Though I had faced the following issues with my Punto Evo in the initial stage like (Steering oil leakage, service center's negligence in checking radiator coolant oil level which ultimately resulted in almost zero water level, all four tires went out of shape within 26000 km due to improper wheel alignment and balancing, the front power window glass came out of window frame while I was driving which ultimately resulted in small accident, dummy fog plastic came out of front bumper while driving, EBD system failure alarms when the battery is weak and everything happened when the car was under warranty period and it was serviced by authorized service center (ARAS, Madurai). And above all the service advisor might insult you by saying "there are two kinds of customer, one who simply accept our service and pays whatever we ask for and vice versa. By the stunning thing about my fiat punto is that, during the coolant oil leakage period, I had driven my vehicle for around 400 plus kilometers (Madurai to Coimbatore & return). And after identifying this mistake I had taken my car to MyTVS showroom in Madurai and the service person identified the leakage spot and changed some tubes which were weak. And found everything was normal. The amazing part was that though I had driven vehicle for almost 400 plus km, the head gasket of the engine was in perfect condition. And now recently (26.06.2019) there was a block in a tube connected to the radiator, I found this issue only after returning back to Madurai. Still, the radiator is in perfect condition. In simple words, this is one among the best car in this segment. And it took four years for me to find a good mechanic in Madurai. My suggestions are that if you plan to purchase fiat, don't rely upon "Fiat India or its authorized service center (like ARAS located in Madurai). First, try to find a good car mechanic in your location for the car's annual maintenance and then purchase. Life will be happy.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo

- Punto for Lifetime of memoriesMy first car happened by accident, though it was a second hand Santro Zipdrive, I just loved the way I could learn and abuse it without bothering about dents and repairs. After 2 years I gave the 14 year old away to a friend who was a starter and liked my vehicle. By now i had realized that i don't want a city car and my most drives were long drives out of the city, so comfort, safety and sturdiness took the president, With it, most of the Maruti cars were ruled out. For the same reason, diesel was preferred over petrol. As Maruti & Tata were using the same diesel engine and with 4 star safety rating, I chose the Fiat Grand Punto and loved the test drive too. Though the buying experience was not all that great, the vehicle hasn't asked for anything more. Periodic service was more of voluntary from my side. Car Manual itself recommends oil change once in a year or 10k on mileage. It has being absolute joy till now with all the out of city drives, in fact Punto has allowed my family to push ourselves to go far places in car, sometimes 750 km drives at a stretch without a fuss and with comfort level a notch higher compared to other cars, we could cover some of the off beat places as well. All i have bothered till now in my 60 Km run is brake pads and all tyres once. Overall very much satisfied with the choice made and all the good memories my family could garner all along. Thank you Fiat Punto.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Fiat Punto EVO A Car Meant To Be Regularly DrivenAfter 10 months and 8k kms of driving feat, this is my honest take on Punto EVO. After spending so much time, I must say this car is not for meant for occasional driving, but for the everyday commute. When I was purchasing the car, a lot of people asked me as to why I am choosing this one ignoring the popular brands out there. I said when there is a risk, there is reward too. I have certain non-common things in life that I love to put on to the discussion. For example, I purchased a Motorola smartphone instead of popular Samsung brand. My friend asked me where did you hear about this phone? I said, I researched. Talking about the car, the Punto EVO significantly looks more appealing as compared to the standard one. I particularly liked the striking swept back headlights and power bulges on the bonnet. At the rear, the clear lens tail lamps featuring LED elements have been nicely designed. Inside, the car shares a lot of goodies with the elder sibling Linea and the additions are indeed impressive. The cabin features all black theme and the textured soft plastic on the dashboard look really upmarket. You do get features such as climate control, rear AC vents and Microsoft powered ?Blue and Me? Bluetooth support and steering-mounted audio controls for quenching your thirst for comfort and convenience. Now comes the crucial aspect of the review, the performance. Since I was power hungry, I chose the 1.3L 90hp multijet diesel engine. The car gets into the real driving mood from the third gear and I honestly say that to get most out of the performance, Punto should be driven in the mid-range of 1750-3500 rpm. Once you have learned the art of keeping the car in this range, you will experience the real fun. Ride and handling have always been Fiat?s forte and this one also excels in this field with superb steering and grip levels. And the suspension setup doesn?t faze the Punto irrespective of the kind of road ahead. So the car is a real highway cruiser with solid built quality and best ride/handling experience. Lack of service centers is a real issue, however, if you have up your mind, this one con will not deter you from buying this car.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
