10 Electric Cars In India Under Rs 30 Lakh That Gets Black Colour Or A Dark Edition
While most cars get the black colour in their regular variants, three of these EVs from Tata and MG get it exclusively in their special editions
Cars with a menacing black body colour have been a current trend in the Indian market. In this report, we have compiled a list of all EVs that come with either a black body colour in their standard variants or special editions, all under a budget of Rs 30 lakh. Let’s take a look.
MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition
Price -

The MG Comet EV gets a special Blackstorm Edition, which is offered only on its top-end Exclusive variant. It gets a Starry Black exterior colour with some red accents all around that make it look quirky. The seats are finished in black and come with red stitchings. It also gets one additional feature over the standard MG Comet EV and has a premium of Rs 30,000 over it.
MG Windsor EV
Price (Exclusive Essence):
- Rs 11 lakh to Rs 12 lakh + Rs 3.9 per km (with Battery Rental Scheme)
- Rs 15 lakh to Rs 16 lakh (vehicle as a whole)
The MG Windsor EV gets a Starburst Black exterior colour as part of its regular palette for its mid-spec Exclusive and top-spec Essence variants. It has become the best-selling electric car in India currently. It comes with a 38 kWh battery pack and is likely to be launched with a bigger 50 kWh battery pack soon.
MG ZS EV

The MG ZS EV gets a Starry Black bodypaint option as standard across all its variants. Silver roof rails, body cladding and dual-tone alloy wheels give a good contrast to its look. It is equipped with a 50.3 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 461 km.
Hyundai Creta Electric
Price: Rs 17.99 lakh to Rs 24.38 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Hyundai Creta Electric also comes with an Abyss Black colour option. Launched during the Auto Expo 2025, the Creta Electric is available in five variants: Executive, Smart, Smart (O), Premium and Excellence. This monotone black paint is standard to all of these variants.
Tata Nexon EV Red Dark Edition
Price: Rs 17.19 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Tata Nexon EV gets a bespoke Red Dark Edition that has been executed very well. It comes with a Carbon Black colour option on the outside. Step inside and you’ll find an all-black dashboard, paired with red upholstery seats that look sporty. This special edition costs Rs 20,000 more than the regular model. It is based on its top-spec Empowered Plus variant with the 45 kWh battery pack only.
Tata Curvv EV Dark Edition
Price - Rs 22.49 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Tata Curvv EV is one of the latest electric cars to get a special Dark Edition. This special edition comes painted in a Carbon Black hue, like the Nexon EV. It also gets an all-black interior to gel with the overall theme. It is available on the top-spec Empowered Plus A variant and is priced Rs 25,000 more than the standard model.
Mahindra BE 6 And XEV 9e
- BE 6 Price: Rs 18.90 lakh to Rs 26.50 lakh (ex-showroom)
- XEV 9e Price: Rs 21.90 lakh to Rs 30.50 lakh (ex-showroom)
Both the new Mahindra EVs, the Mahindra BE 6 and the Mahindra XEV 9e come in a Stealth Black colour. It makes the cars look absolutely sinister. You get this colour option standard on all their variants. While the BE 6 has been trending for its design quirks, the XEV 9e has recently been the celebrity favourite by making its way to the garages of AR Rahman and Anurag Kashyap.
BYD Atto 3 And eMax 7
- eMax 7 Price: Rs 26.90 lakh to Rs 29.90 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Atto 3 Price: Rs 24.99 lakh to Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom)
The BYD Atto 3 SUV and BYD eMax 7 MPV, both get a Cosmos Black colour option in the regular versions. The eMax 7 is the only 6/7 seater MPV in this list to get a black colour option. On the other hand, while the price of the fully loaded Atto 3 does go above the Rs 30 lakh mark you can get the same hue in lower and mid-variants within that budget.
