BMW India has now unveiled the 7-series facelift ahead of its official launch in India in a few months. The 7 series facelift was unveiled at the Jodhpur One World Retreat, a Charity event. The retreat was a gathering of prominent personalities and leaders who lent their support to the Indian Head Injury Foundation headed by Maharaja Gaj Singh II of Jodhpur. The event was held in presence of Maharaja Gaj Singh II, Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, actress Dia Mirza, Industrialist Pawan Munjal and socialite Suhel Seth and other distinguished personalities.
The major attraction of the event was the unveiling of the facelifted BMW 7-Series, which now gets some styling updates inside and out. The new BMW 7-series now gets revamped headlamps (can also be offered in full LED trim), revised front bumper and grille. The wing mirrors of the 7-series now comes integrated with turn indicators. If we look at the rear, the car now gets a tweaked tail lamp and revised bumper. While inside the cabin, it now gets new leather seats and a few more styling changes. However, the car remains almost similar to the version it is going to replace.
However nothing about the specifications has been revealed by the company, the car is likely to retain the similar in-line six-cylinder 3.0-litre turbo diesel engine, but with slightly more power and torque.
Addressing the gathering at the event, Mr. Philipp von Sahr, President, BMW Group India said, “BMW is proud to be associated with His Highness Maharaja Gaj Singh II to support the Jodhpur One World Retreat and raise awareness for Indian Head Injury Foundation. This event is something very special: just like the new BMW 7 Series. As the flagship car from BMW, the new BMW 7 Series will maintain the tradition of being the most modern premium luxury sedan of our times.”
As part of the programme, India Bazaar, an auction of Indian treasures was also held with personalities like industrialist Mukesh and Nita Ambani in attendance. The grand finale featured Sting, the famous British singer who is also a strong supporter of the cause.
